New pets!

since today, i got two new house mates.. they are cute, small (( for now... they will grow ))  have shells, and a still a bit empty new home. its that last part that i can use tips for.  what are good things to  use to make a nice home for two small waterturtles?

for now, i got the basics.. but only the basics (( new home, food, island for them to sit on, a special lamp, and dried food an d vitamin stuff from the pet shop.)) internet is confusing, one site says this, another contradicts it.  so yeah, any good and  care for turtles tips, and sites i can trust are welcome.

and yes, i know buslady, but kinda lost touch with her. was thinking of trying to find her and ask her, so will pm you my mail addy, so you can ask her if she is willing to share info with me.

I have only one advice but it's a big one: don't keep them in a coverless tank and if you do, make sure it is tall. I didn't know that back then but those little guys are absolutely pro climbers. Every time I came home I found them out of the tank wandering around curiously.

gotcha! i placed a temporary cover on now, and will get me a decend one tomorrow. for now, they at least can not escape.

will make and post piccies tomorrow, too. tried it just now, but they are not into sitting still much atm.

I have no advice to offer I'm afraid. We don't really get pet turtles here in Oz. But I can offer a resounding SQUEEEE!! And the hope that all goes well for your new little house mates. Piccies would be awesome, once they decide to co-operate with you, lol!

Awww!! They sound cute! I wish I had a pet turtle.. When I get my own place I definitely want one or two (or more XD).

Wish I had some advice for you but it's pretty obvious I've never had a pet turtle.
